This industrial IoT system consists of two main parts: Automated transportation part and automated distribution part, which both parts consists of a separate web based application (software) and hardware including wireless IoT long rang modems, gateways and control hardware consisting of sensors and actuators. The communication between hardware and software is established by long range IoT modems suitable for outdoor applications that we designed and developed for this system. Using the web based software, which is hosted by a small computer server installed in a remote control room, operators of the system can observe KPIs and remotely open and close irrigation outlets and also sets them in automated mode for downstream or upstream water management. Down stream water management results in near to demand supply that results in the significant enhancement of the efficiency of irrigation network. This industrial IoT system significantly enhances the efficiency of agricultural irrigation network that consumes 92% of Iran's fresh water. Therefore, this technology is one of the key technologies for solving Iran's water shortage crisis.
